Certification & Ijazah Policy
At Almafaz, every certificate earned reflects genuine knowledge and effort. Learn how our certification process works and what it means to hold an Almafaz credential.
At Almafaz, a certificate is not merely a document; it is a testament to your dedication, sincerity, and effort in seeking the knowledge of Allah’s deen. We take the issuance of every certificate and Ijazah with the utmost seriousness, as it carries both academic and spiritual weight.
We pray that Allah accepts your efforts and makes your knowledge a source of benefit for yourself and the Ummah. Ameen.
1. Types of Recognition
Almafaz issues two forms of recognition upon the successful completion of a course or program:
- Certificate of Completion: Awarded to students who complete the required lessons and pass the assessments of a given course.
- Ijazah: A sacred chain of authorization in the Islamic tradition, issued in the fields of Tajweed and Qira’at. The Ijazah confirms that a student has been directly authorized by a qualified teacher who holds their own unbroken chain of transmission back to the Prophet ﷺ.
2. Requirements for the Certificate of Completion
To be eligible for a Certificate of Completion, a student must:
- Attend a minimum of 70% of scheduled classes.
- Successfully pass all required assessments and evaluations.
- Ensure all course fees have been paid in full.
- Maintain conduct in accordance with the standards expected of an Almafaz student.
3. Requirements for Ijazah
The Ijazah is among the most honored credentials in the Islamic scholarly tradition and is held to the highest standard. To be considered for Ijazah, a student must:
- Complete the full Tajweed or Qira’at curriculum as outlined by the teacher.
- Demonstrate consistent accuracy and proficiency in recitation over time.
- Pass a direct oral examination in the presence of the certifying teacher.
- Receive the personal approval of the teacher—the granting of Ijazah is entirely at the teacher’s discretion and cannot be demanded or guaranteed.
- Ensure all outstanding fees have been settled.
Please note: The Ijazah will only be granted in those fields in which the teacher themselves holds a valid and recognized Ijazah. There is no fixed timeline for receiving an Ijazah; it depends entirely on the student’s ability, consistency, and the teacher’s assessment.
4. Validity of Certificates
- All Almafaz certificates are issued under the supervision of our Azhari scholars.
- Each certificate bears the signature of the relevant teacher and the Almafaz seal.
- Ijazah documents include a reference to the teacher’s chain of transmission (Silsilah).
5. Fraudulent Use of Certificates
Any student found to have forged, altered, or misrepresented an Almafaz certificate or Ijazah will face immediate permanent termination of their account. Almafaz reserves the right to take legal action in such cases.
6. Changes to This Policy
Almafaz reserves the right to update this Certification Policy at any time. Any changes will be communicated via email or through the website.
